Dhorpatan Hunting Tour is the only area in Nepal where licensed hunting is allowed and is famous adventure tour in Nepal. In this tour, we can see that the area’s vegetation is characterized by well-developed mixed-hardwood forest at a lower elevation and many plant species of drier climate to the north. The tree species include fir, pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock, oak, juniper and spruce in many other protected environments of Nepal. In this tour, the reserve includes several villages inhabited by hill tribes as well as people of Tibetan descent who supplement farming with trade and animal husbandry. For this tour, we go to a reserve which adjoins the Myagdi and Baglung districts, just below the Dhaulagiri Range in west Nepal which is spread over an area of 1325 sq. km. The reserve begins at 3000 meters reaching as high as 7000 meters. This tour was established in 1987, in the Myagdi, Rukum, and Baglung district of Nepal.

Dhorpatan Hunting Tour, you need to obtain a hunting permit from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation under the jurisdiction of the government of Nepal. This allows the hunter to set up a camp within the hunting areas for up to two weeks with the permission from the department. In this tour the single hunting reserve of Nepal aims to meet the needs of hunting for the Nepalese and foreign hunter of blue sheep, Himalaya Tahr and other animals like leopard, Goral, Serow, Himalayan black beer, barking deer and wild boar etc. The reserve is one of the prime habitats of blue sheep, a highly prized trophy animal, which is the main target of hunters.

The gateway to the region is BeniBaglung district in mid-west Nepal. In this tour, we will have the amazing views of the Dhaulagiri range, Annapurna, Manaslu Himal and Machhapuchera.

The best time for this tour to visit the reserve is from September to May.

Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu

Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and Welcome by our personals and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Beni

Drive from Kathmandu to Beni 9/10 hours. In the first place drive by transport from Kathmandu to Beni. Overnight at tented camp

Day 3Drive to Darbang

Drive to Darbang approx 2/3 hours and begin trek to Dharapani. Approx. 5 hours. At first upto the Khop the trail heads on the bank of stream and from that point to Dharapani trek gradually goes up. Overnight at tented camp

Day 4Dharapani to Lamsung

Dharapani to Lamsung. Approx. 6:30 hours. This remote region with stream and canyons will be a superb spot to explore. The excellent scene will be an additional wonder. Overnight at tented camp

Day 5Lamsung to Jaljala

Lamsung to Jaljala 3430m. Approx 7 hours. The trail climbs towards Jaljala through blended for timberlands of Rhododendron and Oaks and so forth. The landscape of green wilderness and high mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Gurja Himal, Churen Himala, Putha Himala and so forth can be seen along the path and from Jaljala too. Overnight at tented camp

Day 6Jaljala to Dhorpatan

Jaljala to Dhorpatan. Approx 7 hours. At first the trail plunges up to Khahare Khola (stream). In the wake of intersection it the trails proceeds on the bank of the stream and through blended woodlands to achieve Dhorpatan. It’s a superb spot amidst the wilderness.

Exploring around and Spotting creatures and so forth What’s more, trek to Phagune Phedi 4493m. 3/4hours. The trail rises steeply up appreciate the delightful view of the mountains, green wilderness and scene. Overnight at tented camp

Day 8Morning climb to Phagune danda and trek back to Wilderness camp

Morning climb to Phagune danda and trek back to Wilderness camp. Approx 7 hours. At a young hour in the morning trek to Phagune danda, watch the excellent perspectives of the Himalayan reaches, wilderness and scene. What’s more, trek back slipping to Wilderness camp. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 9Jungle Camp to Gurjaghat

Jungle Camp to Gurjaghat 3000m. Approx 6 hours. The trail on the level area through blended wilderness and streams. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 10Gurjaghat to Patichaur

Approx 6 hours. The trails heads rising first then dropping through wilderness and canyons. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 11Patichaur to Darbang and to Beni

Patichaur to Darbang and to Beni. Approx 5 hours. The trails heads rising and sliding through light wilderness and gorges.From Darbang drive to Beni (2/3 hours).

Day 12Drive to Beni

Drive once again from Beni to Pokhara overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13Pokhara to Kathmandu

Drive back Pokhara to Kathmandu, Farewell dinner at Local Nepali cuisines restaurant of Nepal by Duke Nepal Adventure.
